Send me things while I’m away?
Maybe…?
This weekend is AB. The amount of RPing going on will be very limited.
By the time they arrived at the hospital Phil was unconscious, the crushing wound causing the combination of blood loss and collapsed lung.
They took Phil from Tony, promising he’d be able to see him once he was stable. He sank into a chair and put his head in his hands, trying not to cry.
Four hours later, a nurse came to speak with Tony.
“He is currently in critical condition,” he told him. ”He has lost a lot of blood, and his left lung was completely collapsed. He is out of surgery, but is currently unable to breathe on his own. Right now his prognosis is pretty serious.”
Tony let out a shaky breath. “Can… can I see him?” he asked in a soft voice.
“Yes, though it may be hard.”
Phil was too still, his pale form buried under wires and machines. The bruises and marks stood out starkly against his skin, and the whir of the machines were the only sign he was alive.
Tony tried not to cry at the sight of his husband in bed like that. He collapsed into a chair next to him and reached for his hand. He felt tears falling down his cheeks as he looked his husband over.
“He’s tough,” Clint said from the doorway, voice thick. ”He’s not going anywhere.”
Tony nodded, wiping his eyes and looking up at Clint. “It’s still hard, seeing him like this…” He looked away again. “Now I understand why he hates when I end up in the hospital for doing reckless shit.”
“Maybe both of you can learn a thing or two,” Clint said wryly. ”You want company or should I go?”
“I love you,” Phil repeated, running his hands along Tony’s back and shoulders. ”We’re ok.”
Tony shuddered and let out a choked sob as he sank into Phil’s embrace. “Love you.”
“I’m here,” Phil murmured. ”I’m here.”

“Good thing, seeing as I want to be with you for the rest of my life.”
Tony’s smile was radiant as he pressed small kisses to Phil’s cheeks. “I love you so much.”
Phil felt tears prick his eyes, happier than he had ever been in his life.
“Marry me?” he whispered, stroking Tony’s hair.
“I never thought you’d ask,” Tony whispered, pressing his forehead to Phil’s. “Of course I will. I love you so much.”
“I know it’s less formal than our bond, but I want to wear your ring anyway,” Phil said with a smile.
Tony smiled softly. “I understand that,” he said softly. He kissed Phil again. “We just gonna do a small ceremony?”
“Just the team, maybe Nick and Maria,” Phil agreed.
“You’re one of my best friends,” Phil said softly, getting Jasper down to the motor pool and getting him in a car. ”I couldn’t just…let them keep you in there.”
Jasper sank down carefully still trying to keep it together until he could at least get somewhere more private. ”I didn’t think you’d get a choice… how’d you convince Tony?”
“Didn’t have to,” Phil replied. ”He likes you, and more importantly, Clint and Natasha like and trust you. They know as well as I do that you are trustworthy and honorable.”
Phil just held Tony, letting him cry.
Tony whimpered out more broken apologies as he clung to Phil and cried himself out.
“Let’s go to bed,” Phil murmured when Tony had stopped crying.
Tony nodded, still hanging on to Phil. He stood, pulling his husband up with him. “I’m sorry,” he whispered again.
Phil said nothing, tucking Tony into bed and curling around him.
Tony buried his face in Phil’s shoulder, trying not to panic because of Phil’s silence.
“Love you so much,” Phil murmured, stroking Tony’s hair. ”We’ll talk later about this when you’re not so upset ok?”
Tony nodded, clinging to Phil desperately as he struggled not to burst into tears again.
